Welcome! May you find God’s love and wonder in every moment.

Who would Nietzsche’s “Last Man” be now in our contemporary world?

I wonder, if the last man were here now—when he blinks, what does he see?

Does he see that he was made in the stars and once carried by the wind? When he stills himself and looks up to the sun, does he wonder if the space within him belongs to the sky, or does it remain with his feet—captive to the dust that moves with the earth?

Perhaps, he might think, it is his will that sets both free? The last man, if he realises that in belonging to all above and below, he is both ancient and new.

Perhaps the longing is left for love? To be loved because he exists, because he breathes. Longing for a uselessness that is beautiful, like the starlight that falls into his eyes. Perhaps this is creation, the concept—a movement that is only the beginning of love.

God bless you.

Never forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. (Hebrews 13:2)
